Mad dog rapist Delmer Smith is putting on a Dog And Pony Show during his 1st trial in Sarasota Fl. Delmer is using smoke and mirrors to try and convince the jury that it was not him who attacked Canadian snowbird Nicole Mitchell on March 19, 2009, where he stole a television, computer and other electronics.
Delmer Smith sold stolen goods to Red Barn Flea Market Dealer and Registered Sex Offender James Cellecz, Cellecz ended up doing 9 months on the dealing in stolen property charge. James Cellecz listed his “Day Job”on arrest records in 2009 as working for TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATES as a COMPUTER TECH , what the hell, what access did he have to private information. The number one item stolen in all of the Sarasota-Bradenton home invasions was laptop computers. How did Delmer Smith know that only middle aged women, living alone, where in the homes when he attacked, who tipped him off?
SARASOTA HERLAD TRIBUNE Delmer Smith tried to explain away the incriminating evidence, including links to the stolen evidence and a handgun that matched the one shown to Mitchell in the attack. Police found Mitchell’s laptop computer in the possession of Smith’s then-fiance, who had been using it to DJ at a club. The computer still included Mitchell’s emails on the hard drive, and Mitchell’s other electronics were found in Smith’s possession.
To explain that, Delmer Smith testified he had purchased the laptop and other items in March from James Cellecz, a Red Barn Flea Market dealer he used to buy and sell items from to try to make money for living expenses. Smith even produced a receipt for the computer and other items, saying he bought all of the items stolen from Mitchell at the same time.
Delmer Smith is a suspect in several home invasions in Sarasota and Manatee counties in early 2009, some which turned violent and included sex crimes. He is also charged with the murder of a Manatee doctor’s wife who was beaten to death in her Terra Ceia home in August 2009. Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty in that case.
One part of Smith’s testimony today might foreshadow his defense in that Manatee County case. Cellecz, the man from whom Smith claimed to buy the computer, was convicted in 2009 of selling items stolen from the Briles home.
Sunday, November 06, 2011. Sarasota Cops Have DNA Evidence That Links Serial Rapist Delmer Smith to Murder of Georgeann Smith But State Attorney Won’t Charge. In what must be the most gutless move ever by the State Attorney’s Office in Sarasota Fl, they refuse to charge serial rapist and murderer Delmer Smith with the rape and brutal baseball bat murder of Geprgeann Smith even though cops have found the DNA of Delmer Smith in Georgeann’s house. What the hell, does the State Attorney’s office think that serial rapist Delmer Smith just happened to stop by Georgeann Smith’s house for a drink and a visit, she had no prior connection to this mad dag.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER…Mad dog rapist Delmer Smith appears to have a business and social relationship with registered sex offender James Cellecz, currently on felony probation. James Cellecz was Delmer Smith’s fence, whatever Delmer stole from his female victims he turned into cash at James Cellecz’s Red Barn Flea Market booth.
James Cellecz has an active Violation of Probation (VOP) case in Manatee County from the original charge of DEALING IN STOLEN PROPERTY, there is a scheduled hearing on 12/20/2011, see link click here.
UPDATE.. James Cellecz has been arrested and is now in the Sarasota county jail, NO BOND. James Cellecz, a registered sex offender, had preciously entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors in Sarasota on drug and failure to register charges, in exchange for testimony on several violent cases involving mad dog rapist Delmer Smith.
